George Orwell’s fictional novel 1984, is becoming frighteningly more realistic. Such massive data collection violates privacy rights. Everyone is suspect unless proved otherwise!   The KURTUKUNST Gallery and LIMES Image Agency invite cartoonists from all over the world to participate in the 6th International Cartoon Competition Berlin 2015 with the theme "SPYING". The beginning: 4th January 2015  The deadline: 15th March 2015 

Art Competition: SACI Art Competition 2015

Artists of any age, students and professionals, from all over the world are invited to submit their work in any medium and theme. Works will be juried by members of the SACI Artists Council.
DEADLINE: December 15, 2014 (Midnight Central Europe time zone)

AWARDS

FIRST PRIZE: The selected winning artist will be awarded an opportunity for a solo exhibition in the SACI Gallery at SACI’s historic Palazzo dei Cartelloni in Florence, Italy in JULY 2015. The winner’s exhibition will be featured on SACI’s website: www.saci-florence.edu, on social media outlets, and publicized to the international community, as well as to the local press.
SECOND PRIZE: A runner up will be selected according to popular vote via social media. This artist will be featured on the SACI Art Blog: saci-art.com.

Purple Comet! Math Meet - Free, On-line, International, Team Mathematics Competition

The Purple Comet! Math Meet is a free, on-line, international, team mathematics competition. This competition is designed for middle and high school students. The Purple Comet! Math Meet has been conducted annually since 2003.

The contest will be started on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 00:00 AM UTC, and extending for 244 hours until Friday, April 24, 2015 at 04:00 AM UTC. The winners of the contest will be announced on Monday April 27, 2015 around 06:00 PM UTC. After the end of the ten-day contest window, solutions to the contest problems and names of winning teams will be posted on the contest website.

Preparing for IMO (International Mathematical Olympiad) 2015

The International Mathematical Olympiad is the world championship mathematics competition for high school students. It is held annually in a different country. The contestants from each country should be selected through Country's national Mathematical Olympiad. So, maybe this information is not for all of us. But I think it is good to at least know about it. This event is supported by Google with over 100 countries as its participants. So, of course this is a big event.

IMO 2015 will be held in Chiang Mai, Thailand, from 4 to 16 July 2015.

ALGORITHMIST Programming Contest - Code. Compile. Win.

Do algorithm fascinate you? Do you feel the adrenaline rush while coding? It's the place to be, competing against other participants to get your code "Accepted" as fast as possible. It's your chance to show who the best "ALGORITHMIST" is.

1. A team consist of not more than 2 participants.
2. Online prelims (on www.hackerrank.com) on 3rd January 2015 from 6pm to 9pm. 25 teams will be selected from online prelims.
3. Onsite prelims to be held on 16th January 2015 at IEM Gurukul Campus, Kolkata, India. 15 teams will be selected from the same.
4. Finals will be hosted on 18th January 2015 at IEM Gurukul Campus, Kolkata, India with top 40 teams competing (25+15).

Google Code Jam is one of the most popular computer programming contest in the world. This programming contest consists of intense algorithmic puzzles held over multiple online rounds culminating in an on-site final round with the top 26 contestants. For Google Code Jam 2015, registration will open on Tuesday, March 10th, 2015.
